BA(Hons) Degree Professional Practice in Canine
Behaviour & Training
Candidates with any level of experience are welcome to enrol on the BA(Hons) Degree programme.
A candidate with little or no practical experience
or with certain academic qualifications in dog-related
disciplines may commence with the Understanding
Care & Behaviour Module, after which we would
review their progress and recommend a suitable programme.
All candidates considering enrolling on the BA(Hons)
programme will discuss with our programme
advisers the recommended study pathway for what
they wish to achieve.

The modules listed below comprise an example of a programme
but you may be able to choose from a selection of optional
module combinations. There will be plenty of time to
discuss these with tutors and staff as you progress.
Modules prefixed CFBA must total 240 Credits and
those prefixed WBS must total 120 Credits.

Work Based Learning modules with Middlesex University
Once you have completed the above module, the remaining credits are eared through canine project related modules with Middlesex University. You will be advised which of these you should complete
and at what stage.
For a CFBA Certificate you need
40 Credits from CFBA modules and 20 from Work Based
Learning modules.
For an HE Certificate you
need 80 Credits from CFBA modules and 40 from Work Based
Learning.
For a Foundation Degree you
need 120 Credits from CFBA modules.
For an Honours Degree you need 240 Credits from CFBA modules and 120 from
Work Based Learning.
All qualifications BA, FdA, and the HE Certificate contain approximately one third of distance learning Middlesex University modules in the format of project work or research projects which are undertaken once the CFBA modules have been completed. Thereafter you will be supplied, by the CIDBT, relevant information to facilitate your student transfer from the CIDBT to Middlesex University where you register for the final modules to complete your study and success. Middlesex University work based leaning department staff (not CIDBT) will explain the procedure from this point.
