I'm an existing student. What happened to my courses?
The CIDBT has many exciting new developments. In order to accommodate these changes and
to make your study with us even more flexible so that
you can tailor your own learning experience and higher
education qualifications with us, some courses have
been altered or removed to make way for other modules.
However, all modules that you may
have completed and University Credits gained are still
valid for each qualification level.
We have also taken this opportunity to alter course
numbers to bring them in line with the new European
University levels. Whereas modules were prefixed with
a 1, 2 or 3 (eg CFBA 1102) these have now altered to
level 4, 5, 6 as required by University Standards (eg
CFBA 4102)
For any student enquiries regarding the changes of
modules or course numbers, please email Ross McCarthy
(ross@cidbt.org.uk)
who will email or telephone you and discuss changes
with you.

Workshop attendance - is it at a weekend or in the

Workshops are primarily held at weekends.
How many workshops per year?
Workshop dates will be published

depends on which modules you take and how quickly you
complete them too! It's normally likley to be one or

What support do I get?
Expert tutors on hand to answer your questions and
guide you. Enrolling on a WBS module also brings you
entitlement as a University student to a very wide range
of support and facilities, a possible grant, even NUS
discounts! Our tutors want you to achieve your best
and will provide feedback and constructive comments
for improvement where appropriate. As part of the CIDBT
student community you will meet others with similar interests
and problems too - always a great source of support!
We also have expert consultants in non-academic or canine/feline-related
fields (like business or technology) who may be able
to answer an urgent query or offer guidance.
What are academic qualifications and how are they
different to vocational qualifications?
The Government
website has a good guide to this. Very, very broadly,
academic means related to a learning institution where
you are taught skills and knowledge you may
use in future; vocational means related to work where
you are trained in skills and knowledge you need to
or will do in fulfilling a work role, duties
and responsibilities.
