Dogs, Wolves and other Canids

To gain an understanding of the physical and behavioural relationships between the domestic dog and various other wild canids, in particular, the wolf.

To achieve these aims the delegate will study the
• physical and behavioural characteristics of African Wild Dogs
• physical and behavioural characteristics of wolves
• physical and behavioural characteristics of various other canids

Some of the topics covered in this course

  • The physical and behavioural characteristics of African Wild Dogs

  • A study of the physical and behavioural characteristics of wolves

  • Study the physical and behavioural characteristics of various other canids

  • Identify the relationship between dog behaviour and wolf behaviour.

Normal minimum entry qualification:The normal minimum entry qualification is that the student will have to meet at least one of the following criteria:

Has been in full or part-time work related to dogs. This may include boarding kennels, grooming, training, law-enforcement, military dog handling, assistance dog training.

Has owned at least one dog and attended training classes with it
