Module Number: CFBA1101
Essential reading before undertaking this module

The University Accredited modules have been designed to allow
students to follow programmes of study leading to Higher education
qualifications up to and including an Honours Degree, in Canine
Behaviour and Training.
There is a minimum entry requirement to study. In conventional
programmes the minimum entry requirement for Level 1 modules
is normally satisfied by passing relevant ‘A' levels. In Canine
Behaviour and Training there are no relevant ‘A' Levels. We
have therefore had to develop a specific minimum entry programme
to ensure both the academic integrity of the studies and that
potential students have the necessary basic knowledge and
skills to cope with the programme of studies at the entry
level.
Before you enrol on any level 1 module
Students have to satisfy one of two requirements. The first
requirement is experienced based and the second involves an
academic understanding of essential knowledge.
The experience requirement is covered by submitting a resume
including supporting evidence (e.g. references). The objective
is to ensure that the student has the knowledge; skills and
experience to cope with the level one modules. Students cannot
start any module until the resume has been accepted by the
relevant tutor(s).
Students new to the world of canine behaviour & training
If you have no quantifiable practical canine experience then
it is a requirement to complete module CFBA1101 Introduction
to Canine Care and Behaviour. This module has been
specifically designed to ensure that any student who passes
it has the basic knowledge, skills and ability to follow any
of the proceeding Level 1 modules. This is the essential foundation
for the accredited programmes and therefore cannot count towards
any of the awards, therefore the 25 credit points gained from
this course can not be used towards your qualification. This
is merely an indicator of a student's potential to study at
specific qualification levels. When the module is passed then
a certificate may be obtained detailing the level and the
number of credit points.
We reiterate, the University Credit Points gained from the
foundation module CFBA1101 CAN NOT be used
towards your higher education qualification.
