CIDBT
Enrolment Agreement
There are two parts to this document: (Page 1) the terms
and conditions relating to your enrolment and your and CIDBT's
responsibilities and (Page 2) an Agreement Form which you
need to complete at the point of enrolment which will automatically appear when enrolling on any module.
Terms
and conditions
The web site contains specific rules and regulations applicable
for students enrolling on and attending courses with the Cambridge
Institute for Dog Behaviour & Training. Quite simply,
each student is expected to comply with these rules and regulations
and we ask that they read them and agree to them at the outset.

Payment
Tuition fees are payable in full before any course materials
are despatched or attendance of a residential or one-day non-residential
course. Payment can be made by PayPal or Google Checkout,
cheque or postal orders. Payment will be debited from your
account before the course begins. You confirm that the credit/debit
card or cheque that is being used is yours or payment by a
third party has been authorised by you. We will take all reasonable
care to keep the details of your order and payment secure,
but in the absence of negligence on our part, we cannot be
held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures
unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing
or ordering from the website.
The student assumes the burden of proof if the customer
wishes to contest a charge on a credit card for a course,
programme or workshop purchased via our website as outlined
to the customer during the enrolment or registration process.
The student agrees that the bank should not make a charge
back until the CIDBT and the bank discuss the charges and
the burden of proof is met. The student also agrees not to
begin a charge back if the CIDBT has abided by the rules in
this document.
A valid bank debit card bearing a Visa or MasterCard symbol
can be used to purchase programs, courses and workshops. However,
many of these cards have limits on the amount of a transaction
and the bank may refuse charges greater than this amount.
You may need to call your bank for special authorisation in
such circumstances. We are not liable for any loss, expense
or liabilities you may experience from such delays. It is
incumbent on the candidate to read the section on 'What
Happens When I Book a Course' to avoid course despatch
delay.
Fees
Students will be charged tuition and fees at rates established
by CIDBT and published on the web site. The tuition and fees
may be subject to change. The CIDBT evaluates institutional
tuition and fee rates periodically. Tuition rates may also
vary depending on a student's enrolment status. The tuition
and fees do not include other program costs, such as, but
not limited to, books, supplies, equipment costs and other
costs associated with the selected program of study. These
additional costs are the obligation of the student.
It is a student's sole responsibility to ensure that all tuition and fees for each module (course) are paid prior to beginning that module or course. For a detailed breakdown of a financial plan, he must refer to a financial aid award letter and/or payment agreements. If he discontinues studies or attendance for any reason (other than an approved leave of absence) and return at a later date, he will be charged tuition at the rate in effect at the time of his return as well as any applicable reinstatement fee. A student is not released from any obligations or commitments to CIDBT if he leaves the course of study for any reason, including not being satisfied with the services provided.
Refund Policy
If a Course Pack has not been despatched
by CIDBT or a tutor on behalf of the Institute a refund request
must be sent by recorded delivery to the CIDBT Registrar at
the address shown on this web site. This letter must be sent
by the student or their representative no later than 21 days
after the date of completing the on-line enrolment form for
that course. A decision as to whether a refund can be made
and of what proportion will be made by the Registrar and the
student advised within 14 days of receipt of the request.
If a Course Pack has been despatched by
CIDBT or a tutor on behalf of the Institute it is essential
that these are returned either with the request letter
referred to above or within 5 days of receipt. Requests in
these circumstances are then referred to a CIDBT panel who
reserve the right to request evidence and other documentary
verification before a refund will be considered.
In the event of a refund being agreed, the Institute reserve
the right to deduct such costs that have been incurred by
them and which cannot be recovered in calculating the amount
that may be refunded. Where appropriate an offer of a discounted
fee for an alternative course may be made.
No refunds will be considered where a student merely wishes
to defer commencement or where incorrect representations were
made by a student when applying for the course.
Nothing in our terms and conditions negates your rights under
the Consumer
Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
Residential accommodation
The CIDBT are responsible for hotel accommodation and breakfasts only as specified in each course application form. These vary as do the hotels we use. Complaints regarding the hotel accommodation, fayre or services should be made to the hotel manager in the first instance with a member of our staff also being informed. Should any matter not be resolved between yourself and the hotel then you should advise the CIDBT registrar in writing of full details and we shall endeavour to find a satisfactory solution.
Workshop Attendance & Cancellation Policy
Each residential workshop must be attended in the sequence specified in the course information. CIDBT reserves the right to cancel any workshop for which fewer than three students have registered. If cancellation becomes necessary, we will notify all registered students by telephone and/or e-mail at least 14 days in advance. If CIDBT cancels workshops, students will be refunded all monies paid with the exception of the non-refundable CFBA registration fee.
Courses containing Workshops
If you book a course that contains a workshop that part
of your course is mandatory and you will be advised of the
day or days when you should attend. If your course contains
a workshop (of any amount of days) this is booked on the day
that you enrol on the course. if you do not turn up for a
workshop or cancel the chosen dates in advance for whatever
reason you will lose the workshop which means you cannot complete
the remainder of the course. There are no exceptions to this
rule due to the workshop preparation costs that we incur from
the day you enrol. However, you may apply in writing or by
e-mail for an exceptional circumstance consideration case,
whereby, if successful, we may offer you a place on the next
available workshop at a fixed fee of £95.00 per day
and at the course tutor's discretion.
Policies and Disclosure
Information published on the web site contains a description
of certain policies, rules, procedures and other information
about the Institute. The CIDBT reserves the right to change
any provision of the web site concerning rules at any time.
Students are expected to read and be familiar with the information
contained in the Institute’s web site with regard to
any revisions, supplements and addenda to the programmes or
courses, modules and Institute policies. By enrolling in CIDBT,
the student agrees to abide by the terms stated in the web
site and all published Institute policies. CIDBT will not
be responsible for any statement of policy, career planning
activities, curriculum or facility that does not appear in
this Enrolment Agreement or on the CIDBT web site.
Changes
CIDBT reserves the right to make changes at any time to
any provision of the web information, including the amount
of tuition and fees, academic programs and courses, institute
policies and procedures, faculty and administrative staff,
the Institute calendar and other dates and other provisions.
CIDBT also reserves the right to make changes in equipment
and instructional materials, to modify curriculum, and when
size and curriculum permit, to combine some classes or courses.
Cancellation or Postponement of a course
CIDBT reserves the right to cancel a course or postpone
a published course start date when the number of students
scheduled to start the course is lower than a minimum determined
by CIDBT. Wherever feasible either an alternative course or
a new start date will be offered but if the student does not
choose to accept that offer he will be eligible for a full
refund of course fees.
Student's Failure to Meet CIDBT rules/obligations
CIDBT reserves the right to terminate a student's enrolment
in the event of unsatisfactory academic progress, failure
to pay tuition or fees by stated deadlines, disruptive behaviour,
posing a danger to the health or welfare of students or other
members of the CIDBT community or failure to abide by CIDBT
policies and procedures. The CIDBT can discontinue a student's
enrolment status, not issue grades, or deny requests for transcripts
should a student not meet all of his/her financial and institutional
obligations.
Success of Student
Individual student's success and satisfaction with a course
are dependent upon the student's individual efforts, abilities
and application to the requirements of the Institute's courses.
CIDBT cannot make any guarantees in this respect.
Internet
Use of the Internet is solely at a student's risk and subject
to prevailing regulations regarding access, display and utilisation
of material available on the worldwide web. CIDBT has no responsibility
for any information, software, services or other materials
accessed or obtained by you using the Internet. Internet facilities
provided for students are solely for use in research and information
collation and storage in relation to course requirements and
accessing inappropriate material or unauthorised personal
use may lead to enrolment being cancelled with no refund of
fees or credit for work completed. Only software for which
CIDBT or an associated organisation is entitled or licensed
to use on equipment at a Centre may be used on equipment provided
for students.
Use of Images and Works
Students agree that CIDBT may use their name, voice, image,
likeness and biographical facts and any materials produced
as a student while enrolled at CIDBT, without any further
approval or payment, unless prohibited by law. They further
acknowledge that the foregoing permission includes the right
to make and use audio or video tape and photographs of him
or her, recordings of his or her voice, conversation and sounds
in any manner or medium in connection with any advertising,
publicity or other information relating to CIDBT.
Discrimination
CIDBT does not discriminate on the basis
of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, creed, colour,
national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, disability
or any other factor in the recruitment and admission of students,
the operation of any of its educational programs and activities
or the recruitment and employment of faculty and staff. The
Institute complies at all times with the requirements of prevailing
legislation.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between the parties to this Agreement shall be resolved first through arbitration by a panel of at least three arbiters appointed by CIDBT.
Grievance Procedure
If a student feels that he or she has been treated unfairly
or unjustly by any CIDBT course provider, employee, tutor,
mentor, portfolio evaluator or other staff the student must
submit a written statement of the grievance to the CIDBT Registrar
immediately. Where the grievance concerns an academic process
such as grading, testing or assignments, the CIDBT Registrar
acts as the compliance co-ordinator and will assign the appropriate
assessors to handle specified grievances and their report
will be available within 30 days. For other types of grievance
the Registrar will determine the appropriate action in the
circumstances and CIDBT will comply with all prevailing regulations
to resolve the matter promptly and correctly to maintain their
high standards.
CIDBT Liability
It is essential that students enrolling on CIDBT courses fully appreciate that there are risks of damage to property and injury or death to themselves, other persons and animals when learning in a practical environment with animals that may be unpredictable. That is, indeed, what CIDBT courses are all about.
Whilst the Institute and its staff and all personnel associated with the delivery of courses will take precautions, and advise students appropriately, to minimise such risks, neither CIDBT, CFBA nor any individual associated with course delivery can accept liability for any claim for damage, loss or injury arising from activities during a course, from the application of advice or training provided on the course or consequential loss of any sort suffered by a student.
Students therefore agree to indemnify and hold the CIDBT
and CFBA and their servants, course providers, directors,
officers, administrators, employees, agents, subcontractors,
instructors, guest lecturers and heirs harmless against all
damages, claims, liabilities and expenses (including legal
fees) arising out of or resulting in any way from any injury
from an animal as a result of information received through
school coursework, or from any act or omission of one of its
directors, officers, administrators, employees, instructors,
agents, subcontractors, or guest lecturers. A student shall
take all necessary precautions to prevent the occurrence of
any injury to any person, any animal, or any damage to property,
arising out of any acts or omissions of such directors, officers,
administrators, employees, instructors, agents, subcontractors,
guest lecturers and heirs. In any event, the Institute shall
not be liable under, or in connection with, these Terms and
Conditions for any contract, tort, negligence, pre-contract
or other representations (other than fraudulent or negligent
representations) or otherwise for any loss of business, contracts,
profits or anticipated savings or for any indirect or consequential
economic loss whatsoever. Liability in all events is restricted
to, and shall not exceed, the tuition fees paid.
