Why there is a need for the new CFBA & CIDBT
courses
The Canine & Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA) is the professional
voice of the pet behaviour practitioner, representing an unparallelled
body of knowledge concerning the care, training and behaviour of
dogs and cats in the UK. Our members and associates are drawn from
the top ranks of the profession with a common commitment to maintaining
the highest possible standards. From them we select the course teachers
for the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training, (CIDBT).
We wish to encourage new people to enter our profession and to
learn from our experienced members. The Cambridge Institute of Dog
Behaviour & Training is the first education faculty in Britain
with courses taught hands-on by CFBA members or fellows with either
at least ten years' full time experience in dog behaviour or training,
or who have demonstrated an outstanding personal knowledge in canines
that they can impart. We have been concerned that the courses on
offer in Britain at present either do not relate to the profession
in reality or have been just put together and run by part-time people
with little teaching experience. This is not good for new enthusiasts
or current professionals who wish to learn more and update their
knowledge as practitioners. With CIDBT you will be able to join
courses that have been written and managed by people who are experts,
with unrivalled success in this field, who have worked with the
public in frontline behaviour & training. CFBA and CIDBT courses
represent the future for professional practitioners and our aim
is to help as many students and current fellow professionals qualify
as soon as possible.
